Alfredo (Al) Mario Reza, 93, of Hyattsville, Maryland passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023. He was born on July 29, 1929 to the late Nicolas and Elbira Reza. He married Geraldine (Geri) Ware on May 21, 1955 and they celebrated 67 years of marriage together this year.
Al is survived by his three sons and their wives: Alan and Stephanie, Adam and Margaret, and Michael (Mike) and Beki. He is survived by his grandchildren and their significant others: Kristen Reza and David Atkins, Adam Reza II and Katie Harris, Ana Reza-Burkett and Mario Burkett, Austin Reza, Alan Reza Jr., and Spencer Reza. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Ava Reza-Mason, Ezra Atkins, Joey Atkins, Charlie Atkins, and Covey Burkett. He is survived by his siblings and their significant others: Jean Reza, Adolf Reza, Esther Lopez, Katy and Sammy Huerta, Rufus Reza, and Anita Jordan. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Julio Reza and Vince Reza.
Al served in the United States Army during the end of World War II and throughout the Korean War. He was a proud veteran. He worked for Nabisco for nearly forty years. He was committed to his sons and served as their soccer coach for many years. He served as the Maryland State Soccer Commissioner during this time period. He trained to become a pilot at the College Park Airport and he loved flying planes. He served as a Knight for the Knights of Columbus for many years. He is remembered for his loyalty and commitment to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
