Anthony Nick Fotos, born on February 7, 1936 in Athens, Greece, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025.
Tony moved to the United States at the age of 10 and became a proud American, cherishing his new home.
He dedicated 43 years of his life to teaching Mechanical Drawing and Art History at DeMatha Catholic High School where he inspired and mentored countless young men.
Tony was a skilled boat builder, creating everything from rowboats to yachts and shared his passion through a successful charter business in Annapolis and Baltimore. He was also an avid classic car collector and an active member of the Asphalt Angels Car Club.
Above all he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was embraced by a large community of friends, neighbors and former students.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Anne, daughter Cathy (Tony), son Christopher (Asha), eight grandchildren—Theodore, Anthony, Alexandra, Dominic, Tony, Annastasia, Quinn and Olivia; nieces Pauline and Alicia, adopted son Rick and adopted grandson Diego—and many other cherished family members and friends.
Contributions in Tony’s memory should be made to DeMatha Catholic High School, The DeMatha Fund, 4313 Madison Street, Hyattsville, MD 20781.
