It is with great sadness that we announce that Barbara Ann Asbury, age 56, of College Park MD, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 4, 2022.She was a beloved wife, mother, friend and so much more who will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Preston Asbury, her son, William Asbury, and her father, Robert Theall. She is survived by her two daughters, Sara Ann Asbury(Jeff) and Jennifer Lynn Asbury(Mikaela). She is also survived by her brother, Bob Theall, and mother, Norma Theall. She was the adored aunt of Charlotte Hoffer and John Collier, and great aunt to Ethan and Kaileb.

Barb was a life long parishioner at Holy Redeemer church. She was a graduate and educator at Holy Redeemer School. She can be described as a “pillar” of the community, and she dedicated much of her life to serving the Catholic church. Barb truly had a heart of gold and loved unconditionally. She adored her kids, her family, countless numbers of children who she taught, and with whom she shared her love of the Lord.

Barb loved going to the beach, traveling, and spending time with her family. She always had a smile on her face, and a joke to tell. She was always there for anyone in need, and welcomed everyone with open arms. She will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held at Gasch’s Funeral home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, on Friday, December 9th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A funeral mass will be offered at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 4902 Berwyn Road, College Park MD on Saturday, December 10th at 10 am.
