Barbara A. Estill, 90, of Mt Pleasant, SC, wife of Alexander Denham Estill entered into eternal rest on February 26, 2022.
Born on January 28, 1932, in Washington, DC to the late Kenneth A. and Margaret E. Breerwood.
She graduated from Hyattsville High School in 1948. Barbara worked as a secretary for Acacia Mutual Life Insurance Company and for the Department of Defense. She was a woman of faith and a lifelong member of Riverdale Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir and volunteering in many and varied ways. She attended New Life and served there as a volunteer for the ministry. A longtime volunteer for Help-By-Phone, she loved engaging with those in need and encouraging them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her relationships with her family and friends, loving to laugh with them. She loved to cook and entertain in her home. She was known for engaging with people kindly wherever she went.
She is survived by her husband, Alexander D. Estill, Jr.; daughter, Karen E. Young (Charles); daughter in law, Carolina Estill; six grandchildren: Chip (Rebecca) Young, Kirsten Rollings (Mark), Robert (Amber) Rolfes, Ashley Estill (Patrick Pervola), Alex (Samantha) Estill, Danielle (Thomas) MacNeil, and eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Towns; sister-in-law, Dolores E. Joyner, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth D. Estill, and sister, Anita B. Fadden.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Gasch’s Funeral Home on Saturday, March 12, 2012, at 12:00. The Family will receive friends and family on March 12 from 10:00 until 12:00. The internment will be held at Ft Lincoln Cemetery at 1:30.
