Barbara Jean House

Barbara J. House (Travis), 85, of Falling Waters WV, formerly of Brentwood MD, passed away on May 19, 2023, peacefully in her home of natural causes. Born on August 30, 1937, to the late Richard and Helen (Franklin) Travis. She married the love of her life, Alfred on April 22, 1955.

Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Alfred W. House. Dedicated mother of Cheryl Gardner (House) and her husband Bob, and Kenneth L House and his wife Cheryl (Schneider). Loving “MeeMaw” to Jeanette Dixon (Gardner), Richard Gardner, Kristyn Cooke (House) and her husband Paul, Kylie House, and "Great-MeeMaw" to Lukas Cooke. Caring “Ali B” to Jean Mickel (Learmonth) and Laurie Whitcomb (Learmonth). Devoted sister of the late Patricia Sperry (Travis) and the late Marcia Learmonth (Travis). She is also survived by many other extended family and friends.

Her family will receive friends at Gasch's Funeral Home, 4739 Baltimore Ave Hyattsville, MD 20781 on June 16, 2023, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on June 16, 2023, at 1:30 pm, followed by burial service at Cheltenham Veteran Cemetary, 11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at Robin Hill Winery on June 16, 2023 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.
