Charles Pratt, Jr.

Of Lanham, MD, passed away January 20, 2018 at George Washington University Hospital. At his bedside were his son, Charles, his daughter, Beth, and son-in-law Eddie Thomas. His son, Shawn and sister, Phyllis Huseman also survive him along with his grandchildren, Michael (Danielle) Parker, Brian Parker, Crystal and Christopher Teta, and great grandchildren Jenifer, Ethan, Sophie, Sadie, Riley, and Leanne. He joins his departed wife, Barbara, and parents Charles Hye Pratt and Elsie Marie Campbell. Charles “Charlie” attended Anacostia High School where he played baseball, football, and basketball. He married his "beautiful little girl" Barbara, had a rewarding career at the Department of Defense, and took an active part in his community. He enjoyed tennis, golf and fishing. After Barbara passed their little pug Bo was a great consolation to him. One couldn't ask for a better friend, husband, father, grandfather or great grandfather than Charlie. A memorial service will be held at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5820 Riverdale Road, Riverdale, Maryland 20737 on February 3 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church.
