Cleofa Dela Cruz

Cleofa “Inang” Dizon Dela Cruz was a loving grandmother, mother, sister, and wife. She passed peacefully in the early morning of December 30, 2023 at the age of 96.

She was born in Angeles, Philippines on April 26, 1927. Growing up in the peak of World War 2, Cleofa met her husband, Ricardo Dela Cruz. Together, they had 5 children: Erlinda, Olivia, Dante, Reynaldo, and Ligaya.

Inang loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Her grandchildren would gather around the kitchen table for after-school merienda and loved listening to her stories about her childhood. She was a beer enthusiast and was known to enjoy a few episodes of Wrestle Mania (and maybe even some Jerry Springer). She always had a romantic comedy book in her purse. Although, most of her time was spent caring after her family and the neighborhood’s children.

Viewing service is Saturday, January 6, from 4-8 PM and Sunday, January 7, from 3-7 PM at Gasch’s Funeral Home in Hyattsville, MD. Funeral Mass is scheduled for Sunday, January 7 at 3 PM. Please join us in celebrating her loving memory.
