On June 16, 2008, Connie Callaway passed away at the age of 79. A New Carrollton resident for 45 years, she retired from the Office of Emergency Preparedness (FEMA). She was the wife of the late Kenneth A. Callaway, devoted mother of Joseph (Fanny) Callaway, Margaret (Curtis) Stutzman, Craig (Katie) Callaway, and Jeffrey (Lucinda) Callaway and grandmother of Kenneth, Heather, Tami and Katrina. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and her best friend of 45 years, Peggy Burke. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Connie's Life Celebration at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and also to her Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 5700 St. Bernard's Drive, Riverdale Park, MD on Friday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Baltimore National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to Washington Hospital Center Foundation, Critical Care Family Fund, #61162, 110 Irving Street, N.W., East Building, Room 1001, Washington, D.C. 20010.
