Dorothy Hunt

Mary Dorothy Slavin Hunt, age 93, was born in Baltimore, MD, December 25, 1917. Raised in Severna Park, she graduated from Seton High School in Baltimore in 1934. She attended Strayer Business College in Washington, D.C., and worked for Prince George's County Health Department. She moved to Cheverly in 1937 and was a charter member of the Cheverly Swim Club. She enjoyed playing duplicate bridge, becoming a Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League about 1976. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit A. Hunt, and a son, Stephen E. Hunt. Survivors include three sons, Kermit Allan of Columbia, MD, Joseph of Annapolis, MD and Thomas of Greenbackville, VA; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, Maryland on Tuesday, June 14th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 15th at 10:30am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 3107 63rd Avenue, Cheverly, MD 20785. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Heart Transplant Program at the Washington Hospital Center, 110 Irving Street, NW, Washington, DC 20010.
