Dorothy Panchik

On Saturday, September 3, 2016 of Chillum, MD formerly of Washington, D.C. Beloved wife of the late Anthony Panchik. Loving mom of Mary Ellen Sullivan, Lois Marie Panchik, and the late Elizabeth Anne Panchik. Grams to Robert, Karen, Angela (Thomas), Marc, George (Michelle), and Karl (Heather). Great-grams of 12. Preceded in death by her sister Ellen Mae Binder. She was a Girl Scout leader, active with the Nation's Capital Council for over 25 years. She received the St. Ann Medal. She was a Prince George's County Crossing Guard for 26 years. She received crossing guard of the year and was employed with Hecht's, Woodies, and Macy's, where she received the employee of the year award. She was also active with the College Park Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus. Friends may call at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Monday, September 12 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 4902 Berwyn Road, College Park, MD on Tuesday, September 13, at 11 AM. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation, P.O. Box 4565, Washington, D.C., 20017 or to the Children's National Hospital, 111 Michigan Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20010.
