E. Josephine Robinson Chapman

E. Josephine Robinson Chapman, 81, transitioned peacefully on July 11, 2023 in Fayetteville, NC. She was the daughter of Frederick D. Robinson and Bertha Robinson (Vaughn). Josephine was the 8th of 11 children.  Josephine was born in Washington, DC and lived in Chicago for several years as an adolescent. She graduated from Spingarn High School in Washington, DC and then attended Kittrell College in Kittrell, NC.  She worked for the Department of Commerce and the Department of Treasury.  Josephine was a member of Randall Baptist Church in DC.  Everyone knew her as “Jo” and she was always on the move and loved a good road trip. She was very handy around the home and with automobiles.  She loved helping out family and friends with different projects. She loved to joke and laugh and spend time with family and friends.  Throughout her life, she enjoyed road trips, bowling, roller skating, dancing, jazz festivals, and playing, Scrabble, Bid Whist, and Bingo.  She also enjoyed painting, gardening, home renovation and interior decorating.  Jo was a giving person and lived to help others.  She is predeceased by her brothers Alexander Robinson, Frederick (Sonny) Robinson, Jr., Stanley Robinson of Chicago, Morris Robinson and Edward Robinson, of DC. She is survived by her three sisters, Sadie Robinson, Yvonne Schneider, Deborah Woodard (Chester) and one brother, Kenneth Robinson. Her four boys Sandy M. Chapman, III (Keisha) of Raleigh, NC, Anthony R. Chapman (Sandra) of Fayetteville, NC, Timothy D. Chapman (Raquel) of Leesburg, VA and Sidney M. Chapman (Sharisse) Gainesville, VA. 12 grand-children, 7 great grand-children and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who celebrate her life. Josephine lived life to the fullest and was known by many. She left this earth peacefully, knowing she was loved and taken well care of until her last breath by family members.
