Edward Ross Johnson, Jr.

Edward Ross Johnson, Jr., 84, of St. Leonard, MD, previously of Mitchellville, MD, departed this life on March 12, 2023.  He was born in Washington D.C. and was a 1957 graduate of Northwestern High in Hyattsville, MD.  He was a master carpenter for over 40 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and crabbing.

He is survived by his children, Donny Johnson of Harwood, MD, Dan Johnson of Hatteras, NC, and, Lisa Capotosto of Mechanicsville, VA; his brother, Tom Johnson of Stevensville, MD, his sister, Alice Zickafoose of Hedgesville, WV; his dear friend, Carolyn Goad of St. Leonard, MD; and his grandchildren Donny, Emily, Leanna, Eloise, Chris, Avery and Delaney Johnson, and Daniel and Stephen Capotosto.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maryellen Sondberg Johnson, and his cherished brother, Howard “Bud” Johnson.

He will rest at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD, where a private burial will be held.  A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.

He is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
