Dr Miller was born in Wisconsin on a dairy farm. His early education was in a 1 room school house and he managed through many years of hard work to be awarded a PhD. He was a devoted son and spent his vacation every summer helping his mother and brother get hay in for the winter and doing farm repairs. He spent weekends helping out at his mother-in-laws house prior to having her move in with his family for the remainder of her life. He worked with the Department of Agriculture in Beltsville then Washington DC until retirement. At that point he took over all of the house hold shopping and cooking which he enjoyed along with many other hobbies including lapidary, silver and goldsmithing, stained glass creation, furniture refinishing and most recently oil painting. He continued to lovingly care for his wife throughout her decline into dementia. He has done a wonderful job keeping her safe and happy for almost 62 years. He loved helping out his children in any way and had a special bond with each of his grandchildren.
