After almost a year's battle of pain and suffering with lung cancer, as the Water and Blood of Jesus Christ flowed down upon him, Eligio Amodente Ame went home to His Father, our God Almighty, on April 8, 2008 at 2:30 a.m. With his granted wish of sinless, painless, and peaceful death, Eli is survived by his ever-loving wife, Florie Ame and grateful children: (son) Al Vincent Ame and wife Michelle Ame; (daughters) Ria Luz Ame, Anna Theresa Ame, and Marneli Concepcion Ame; as well as his only grandson, Elijah Leonard Ame. Born on December 1, 1953 in Silang, Cavite, Philippines, Eli was the 9th (youngest son) of 10 children of Roman Ame (deceased) and Corazon Ame. Also survived by four caring sisters: Dory Panganiban, Noemi Patambang, Flor Ame, and Fenny Morillo. With a very strong faith, Eli served as a lay minister in the Philippines and was a member of Couples for Christ, both in the Philippines and the United States. He was hard-working, responsible, a loving husband, and dedicated father. Eli Ame was a caring brother, and an amiable friend who will always be remembered by his family, relatives, and friends around the world. As Eli always says, on his last days on earth, "Lord, I trust in You. Let Your will be done."
