Of Cheverly, MD died at Fairfax Hospital on November 23, 2015. Estelle was born in Caroline County, VA on January 3, 1918, daughter of the late Marguerite Louise Sewall and Byrd Royston Holloway. Wife of her beloved late husband Ellis R. Allen, Estelle is survived by sons Dale Allen (Gemma) of Fairfax, VA, Tim Allen (Joan) of Accokeek, MD, daughter Lynn Vetter (Tom) of Montgomery Village, MD, and a host of other relatives. She will be remembered as "Grandmother" to 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Estelle grew up on her family farm, "Ridgeway," graduated from St. Cecelia's High School in Washington, DC, hosted Bridge for her friends, worked as a long-distance operator at the Department of Commerce and as a clerk for special requests at the Government Printing Office. She was a volunteer at St. Ambrose and Prince George's Hospital, a long-term member of St. Ambrose Women's Sodality, and an ardent Redskins fan. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 27 at Gasch's Funeral Home. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 3107 63rd Ave., Cheverly, MD 20785 followed by interment at Fort Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Ambrose Catholic Church at the above stated address.
