Eugene Shaw

January 23, 1932 — February 13, 2009

Born in Washington, DC to Lillian Meyers and William Howard Shaw. He lived in the DC area and attended local schools. He served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army in Korea. In 1956 he joined the Chillum-Adelphi Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a Life Member. He was also a Montgomery County Firefighter at the Glen Echo Station on Massachusetts Avenue. He retired from the General Services Administration in 1996. In addition to his fire service, he also enjoyed a lifelong interest in HO trains, train excursions and
photography. He leaves a daughter Kathleen O. Pessgano (Paul), son, Kevin W. Shaw and five grandchildren: Nicole Reilly, Hannah Pessagno, Domonic Pessagno, Timothy Shaw and Kevin Shaw. He also had two devoted Maine Coon Cats, Chessie and Peake. In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations may be made to his name to The Hospice of the Chesapeake, Mandrin House, 3675 Solomons Island Road, Harwood, MD 20776.
