Mrs. Faye Lynette (Jackson) Palmer, 74, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, with her husband of 44 years by her side. Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother lost her six-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born on November 25, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Faye's loving kindness and laughter touched the lives of her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, coworkers and all animals she encountered throughout her life. She was quick with a compliment or kind word to a loved one or stranger and the first to help an animal in need.
After graduating from E.J. Cooper High School, Faye's life journey took her from Minnesota, to California, Colorado, Florida and Maryland. Growing up, she enjoyed spending many summers on her aunt's farm near Princeton, MN. Later in life she enjoyed time with her family, caring for children and keeping in touch with loved ones despite the distance. Spending her career in customer service, Faye served as the first friendly smile and interaction at a variety of offices and stores, including her family-owned and operated Children's Sample Shop. A lifelong Lutheran, Faye loved all of God's creations, lovingly raising children, dogs, cats and swallowtail caterpillars throughout her life. Faye also loved making crafts, writing poems, visiting garage sales, collecting shells on the beach, sending cards, laughing, being silly and dressing up. Faye is survived by her husband Timothy Palmer, their children Kristina and Kelly, son-in-law Matthew, two grandchildren Ethan and Theodore, brother David, sister-in-law Jean, constant companion Buddy, and extended family. She was welcomed into Heaven by her father Algot, mother Edith, sisters Carol and Betty and numerous relatives and friends. A celebration of Faye's life will be held on April 3 at Gasch's Funeral Home in Hyattsville, MD. Attendees are encouraged to wear bright colors or floral patterns in Faye's honor. An interment service for the family will be held April 4 at George Washington Cemetery in Adelphi, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Operation Paws for Homes, Friends of Rabbits (www.friendsofrabbits.org) or your favorite animal rescue organization. See links below.
