Francisco Hernandez-Lucero, known affectionately as "Chico Che"
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a legend in our hearts, Francisco Hernandez-Lucero, a dedicated Machine Operator at Anchor Construction for over 25 years, left this world on May 26, 2024. His departure leaves behind a void that can never be filled.
Born on March 25, 1965, in San Jose Mixquitepec, Puebla, Mexico, Francisco's journey through life was marked by kindness, hard work, humility, and generosity. He was the epitome of a family man, cherishing moments spent with his loved ones at family gatherings and parties. His contagious laugh could light up any room, earning him the title of "the heart of the family."
Outside of work, Francisco found joy in gardening and playing with his grandchildren. He took immense pride in giving back to his family, home country, and community – a legacy that will live on for generations to come.
Francisco's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving loved ones: his beloved wife, Hermelinda Rosas De Hernández; his son, Francisco Javier Hernández-Rosas; his daughters, Brenda Hernández-Rosas and Wendy Hernández-Rosas; as well as his granddaughter, Izabella Hernandez, and grandson, Alonzo Hernandez. He is preceded in death by his father, Trinidad Hernández.
A viewing will take place at Gasch's Funeral Home P.A. in Hyattsville on June 6th, 2024 at 4-8pm. A Mass in honor of Francisco's life will be held at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Riverdale Park on June 7th, 2024 at 10am, followed by burial at Heritage Memorial Cemetery in Waldorf.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Francisco Hernandez-Lucero, not with sadness but with gratitude, for having had the privilege of knowing such a remarkable soul. May his legacy of love and dedication continue to inspire us all.
Rest in peace, Chico Che. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
