Frankie Wormack was born May 17, 1920 in Enfield, Halifax Co., NC to Junious P. and Susie Crawley Whitehead. She was the 11th of 11 children.
She received her early education in the public schools of Halifax County, NC and A&T College, Greensboro, NC.
She retired from the federal government on Jan. 17, 1981, after 38 years of dedicated service.
She was married in 1946 to Arthur William Wormack and had four sons; Wallace Paul, Gerald Anthony, Michael Wayne, and Joseph Kelvin.
Frankie was baptized into the Catholic faith at Holy Name Church on Nov. 6, 1960 and remained an active and committed member of the congregation until 1969. She joined St. John the Baptist de La Salle Church where she volunteered at the rectory answering telephones, helped with CCD, was head of the Alter Guild, was an active member of the Rosary Group and an Eucharistis Minister.
She leaves her four sons, daughter-in-law, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, her sister Mattie Porter, and a host of nieces and nephews.
