Peacefully on April 4, 2007 at Washington Hospital Center of Upper Marlboro, MD. In 1989 Mr. Grant retired from his position as Assistant Chief of the Federal Protective Service. In 2000 he joined the staff of Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A. where he served with dignity and respect. He was an active member of the Third Street Church of God for over 30 years. He is survived by his loving children, Fred S. (Manuela) Grant, Jr.,
Deborah Grant-Marshall, Dorothy Grant-Graham, April L. (Harry) Thomas, a sister Betty Baker, brothers Riley (Ruth) and Joe Grant, loving companion Nancy A. Percentie, nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. On Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. family will receive friends at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Ave., Hyattsville, MD and also on Wednesday, April 11 from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 9:30 a.m. at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 5205 43rd Avenue, Hyattsville, MD. Repast prior to burial at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Third Street Church of God, Nehemiah Building Fund, 1246 New Jersey Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20001
