Gertrude Marie Gray, (Age 101). On October 8, 2024, wife of the late Richard A Gray, Sr. Preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Lila Mihill, and siblings: Norman (Cathy still living), Alma (daughters Pat and Peggy still living), Paul and Victor (wife Freda, sons David, Mark, Timothy and daughter Vicki still living).

Loving mother of Joyce (Kevin) Holecko, Pamela Lanouette (fiancé Danny Pironto) and (ex Michael Johnson father of Jeffrey, Joshua and Lisa) Richard A Gray, Jr. (ex Leslie Keating mother of Stephanie and Lindsey).

Grandchildren: Traci Little, Stephanie (Fred) Gray, Kelly and (Paul) Trioli, Jeffrey (Jill) Lanouette, Lindsey (Patrick) Pearce, Joshua (Sevgi) Gray, Kerrie Holecko (fiancé Chris Johnson) and Lisa Lanouette Cole (fiancé Joe Weene).

Great grandchildren: Marissa, Patrick, Hayden & Dylan (mother Tiffany Lanouette), McKennon, Raelyn, Bradley, Graham, Isabella, Paul, Ein, Sophie, Jaxon, Stevie, Brody, and Kevin.

Extended great grandchildren: Caleb, Arrabella, Ashley, Matthew, Kimberleigh, Alexandra and Sara.

Gertrude and her sister Alma were walking down Illinois Avenue in Washington, DC. Richard Gray spotted her on his motorcycle, turned the bike around went over to her and told her he was going to marry her. Thirty days later they eloped to Frederick. They were happily married for 2 days short of 62 years when her beloved husband passed.

Gertrude loved her family more than life. She loved her house that her husband built for her many years ago. She enjoyed bowling, dancing (west coast, east coast, ballroom and belly dancing), baking, cooking, sewing, the piano, her porch, her yard and her pets Ricky and Tasha. She also enjoyed watching shows like Judge Judy, In Touch Ministries, Jimmy Swaggart and games shows.

Friends may call at Gasch’s Funeral Home, Hyattsville, MD Friday, October 18, 2024 from 10-11. Service to follow at 11. Interment George Washington Cemetery following service.
