Hazel Lenora Willis, 72 was lovingly known as “Granny” or “Mommy” to those who knew and loved her. She was born on March 30, 1946 to late John and Hazel Woods of Harlem Heights, West Virginia. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., to meet her angels; her mother, father, brother Pete and sister Hythern. She was the 2nd oldest daughter of eight.
Lenora was married to late Maryland Willis, known as “Poppa” who is preceded in death on October 6, 2002. They had four children together. Lenora was a Semi-Truck Driver. She loved to cook and bake her homemade peach cobbler and sweet potato pies. Everyone loved her cooking.
Lenora was a Christian woman who loved the Lord. Prior to becoming ill, she enjoyed entertaining her family and friends especially her children. She also had a love for traveling, playing bingo, going to casinos, and playing the lottery.
Lenora leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories; her five children; Maryland (Vanessa Woods) Woods, Barbara Willis, Thalia Holmes, Marland (Charmain Willis) Willis, and Toyee (Jeffrey Tinsley) Tinsley. Grandchildren; Isaiah Holmes, Jeffrey Tinsley Jr., Marquise Dixon-Willis, Kirell Willis, Maryland Willis, Imani Willis, and Aniah Tinsley. Great Grandchildren; Kylie Holmes, Landen Tinsley, and Julianna Willis. Three sisters; Thalia (Harold Esby) Espy, Barbara Dickerson, Sandra Austin, Hattie Lee, brother; Willie Woods, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Hazel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
