Ingrid was pronounced deceased at 2:52 am on June 28, 2017, at the age of 80 plus. Her husband who was with her detected no vital signs at about 1:54 AM. Ingrid was born to Elfriede Bohnenstengle (Frieda) in Stettin, Germany on September 2, 1936, which in post WWII became Szczecin, Poland. Ingrid married and remained loving to Robert E. Reynolds, Jr. (Bob), on February 27, 1960. She is also survived by her grandson Robert E. Reynolds IV (Rob), great-grandson Justin Tyler Reynolds all of Maryland, and one brother, namely Hartmut Kurt Lockenvitz of Draft, Kentucky. Ingrid is an elder first cousin of Inge Behnenstengle Petschick who currently lives in Langenfeld, Germany. Ingrid’s and Bob’s son, namely Robert E. Reynolds, III (Buddy), who they both loved and missed so very much, is believed to have succumbed to cancer at age 56 in 2015 in Germantown, MD. Ingrid very proudly became a USA citizen in 1966 and she very proudly cast her first two votes to President Barack Obama. Her name “Ingrid Eva Lockenvitz” is recorded on the Wall of Honor at Ellis Island, NY. In October, 2000, Ingrid was commended by the National Security Agency (NSA) for her unselfish, faithful devoted service, and her unfailing support and understanding to the lasting contributions of her spouse. “Inky” touched many people’s emotional hearts as she was very loving and giving of herself. She was loved by all who knew her. Ingrid, your memory is cherished and you are very much missed!
Ingrid was diagnosed with dementia in 2009. She was cared for on a daily basis at home by her loving husband and in her last six months with personal concern by caregiver Ms. Adama Turay of Great Expectations Home Healthcare Agency of Cheverly, MD., a non-profit organization. Agents of Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Columbia, MD also worked to make Ingrid comfortable and peaceful. All these care givers showed Ingrid tender very-loving care and her entire family is grateful to all who cared.
Donations in Ingrid’s name would be welcomed by Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association (www.alz.org) , which is a nonprofit organizations.
