J. Boyd

Peacefully on December 18, 2012, beloved husband of Chris Boyd for 31 years, beloved father of the late Samuel G. Boyd. Also survived by a host of loving family, friends and caregivers. Born on August 3, 1925 in Washington, D.C., Carroll was a lifelong native of the DC area. Carroll served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific theater where he witnessed the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima. Carroll was a roofing contractor serving the Washington metropolitan area for 60 years. Friends may call Saturday, December 22nd from 9 to 10:30am until time of Mass at 10:30am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 3107 63rd Avenue, Cheverly, MD 20785. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Fisher House, 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850-5168 or St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
