James Anderson McConnell Jr. (Jim, Jimmy), Born October 4, 1954, of Edgewater, MD, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, due to complication's from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). The Memorial service will be held Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 1:pm (est) at Gasch's Funeral Home-Hyattsville, MD. 4739 Baltimore Ave., Hyattsville, MD 20781.
Jim was born in Berwyn Heights, MD on October 4, 1954. He graduated from Parkdale High School, Riverdale, MD and continued on to receive a secondary education from IUOE local 77. Jim was married to Frances McConnell (née LeMay) on January 31, 2013; they were married for almost 2 years; however they were engaged in January of 2010]. Jim was the Co-Owner of L&M Financial Services for 3 years and worked as Inspector 1 for DFI Engineering for 3 years as well, after owning an Exxon station in North Carolina briefly and also owing several other successful businesses through his life. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing, working on cars, playing with his dogs, spending time with his wife and dreamt of retiring to Highlands, NC.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Frances McConnell (née LeMay), former spouse, Linda McConnell (née Bergendahl) and mother of his natural son, as well as his mothers sister- Shirley Dewhirst, younger brother Frank L McConnell, two great grandchildren Lucas Ayden DeBoard and River Grace DeBoard, two grandsons Robert Edward McConnell and Matthew Alan DeBoard, his natural son George Robert McConnell II and Daughter by marriage, Brittany Morris. Followed by several nieces and nephews; Dawn Elks (née Sargent), Heather Sargent, Kayla Conner, Ali Elks, Julie McConnell, Sophia McConnell, and Jessica McConnell, Michael Lee McConnell, Cody Sargent, Justin Sargent, as well as many other family and friends.
Jim is preceded in death by [his mother Jean E McConnell, his father James Anderson McConnell SR, older brother a Combat Engineer from the Vietnam War Robert Samuel (Sam, Sammy) McConnell Sr. and his beloved dogs, German Shepard Daisy, also his very recently passed German Shepard Zoey.
