James Matthew Ridgway

James Matthew Ridgway, 46, of Cape St. Claire, MD, departed this earthly life on December 15, 2022, due to natural causes.  Born in Washington, DC, and raised in Poolesville, MD, James is survived by his loving wife, Dally Nataly Ridgway, his beautiful children, Robin Nataly Ridgway and Rogan Matthew Ridgway, his parents James Michael Ridgway and Emma Ridgway, his sister Jennifer Lynn Ridgway, and his brothers Jonathan Walter Ridgway and Joseph Edward Ridgway.  

Upon earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice in 1999 from the University of Maryland at College Park, James became a Clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C.  His professional career included contributions as a Juvenile Probation Officer, a Pretrial Services Officer for D.C. Pretrial, and a Senior U.S. Pretrial Services Officer for the U.S. Probation, where he presently served as the Location Monitoring Specialist.  James served the Court and the community by promoting public safety and supporting the fair and equitable administration of justice.  He did his best to treat all people with dignity and respect.

Besides being fair and kind, James was also very creative.  He was the most amazing gardener.  The landscapes he created were so elaborate and professional that people frequently asked to hire him. He enjoyed boating, crabbing, hiking, traveling, and skateboarding with his family and friends.

He loved to visit new places and try out new foods and music.  His children describe him as funny, and fun, yet he was firm and kind.  His friends describe him as adventurous and quite the daredevil.  He was a family man, completely devoted to his wife, children, and many relations.  We will all miss him terribly.

Nacido en Washington, DC y criado en Poolesville, MD.  A James le sobreviven su amada esposa, Dally Nataly Ridgway, sus hermosos hijos, Robin Nataly Ridgway y Rogan Matthew Ridgway, sus padres James Michael Ridgway y Emma Ridgway, su hermana Jennifer Lynn Ridgway y sus hermanos Jonathan Walter Ridgway y Joseph Edward Ridgway.

Después de obtener una licenciatura en Justicia Criminal en 1999 de la Universidad de Maryland en College Park, se convirtió en Secretario de la U.S. Oficina del Abogado en Washington, D.C. Su carrera profesional incluyó contribuciones como Oficial de Libertad Condicional Juvenil, guiando a jóvenes a mejores caminos.  Después fue un Oficial de Pretrial de D.C. Finalmente, trabajó cómo un Oficial Superior de Servicios Previos al Juicio a nivel federal, donde actualmente se desempeñó como Especialista de Monitoreo de Ubicación para la Libertad Condicional. James sirvió al Tribunal y a la comunidad promoviendo la seguridad pública y apoyando la administración de justicia justa y equitativa. Hizo todo lo posible para tratar a todas las personas con dignidad y respeto.

Además de ser justo y amable, James también era muy creativo. Era el jardinero más asombroso. Los paisajes que creaba eran tan elaborados que frecuentemente la gente lo quería contratar.  Le gustaba navegar, pescar cangrejos, hacer caminatas, viajar y andar en patineta con su familia y amigos.

Le encantaba visitar nuevos lugares y probar nuevas comidas y música. Sus hijos lo describen como gracioso y divertido, pero era firme y amable. Sus amigos lo describen como aventurero. Era un hombre de familia, completamente dedicado a su esposa, hijos y muchas relaciones. Todos lo extrañamos terriblemente.
