James "Andy" Anderson

November 13, 1942 — January 31, 2018

Passed peacefully on January 31, 2018, after a year long battle with cancer. Andy, as he was called by friends, was born in Washington, DC and grew up in the Greenbelt/College Park areas. He graduated from High Point High School in 1960. Andy was an award-winning salesman in the liquor industry and well respected by his peers. He worked for Standard, retired from Reliable-Churchill, and returned to the industry working for Prestige Beverage. Andy enjoyed dancing and membership in the DC Hand Dance Club. He was a 2-time past President of the dance club. Andy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Rolf; 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Jocelyn and Max; 1 great grandchild, Caden; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ellie; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Calvin; 2 nieces, Denise and Ruth; 1 nephew, Rick, and many other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Knights of Columbus, Boswell Hall on Saturday, February 24, 2018.
