Alice Jane Freitag, lovingly known as Jane, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, in Washington, DC. Born on April 25, 1957, in Bland, Virginia, she lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication to her family and friends.
Jane was a devoted regional administrative assistant for CVS Health, marking an incredible 35 years with the company this past October. Her commitment to her profession mirrored her dedication to her loved ones, always ready to lend a hand or an ear whenever needed. Known for her warm and caring personality, she treated everyone as family, enveloping them in kindness and support.
A passionate crafter, Jane poured her heart into her hobbies, creating beautiful quilts and crocheted blankets for new arrivals and custom shirts and mugs immersed with love for those closest to her. She had a great sense of humor, lightening every gathering with her infectious laughter and genuine warmth.
Jane cherished her summer vacations to Shenandoah National Park, where she made beautiful memories with her family, introducing her grandson to the breathtaking mountains that were an integral part of her own childhood. She cultivated her family and friend's love through delicious comfort foods, reminding them that the simple joys of life are often found around the dinner table, surrounded by those we hold dear.
She is survived by her husband, Paul A. Freitag, and her children: Amanda J. Freitag, Paul J. Freitag, Rebecca D. Freitag (daughter-in-law), Patricia L. Morgan, and Gregory A. Morgan II (son-in-law). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Gregory A. Morgan III, Aiden J. Morgan, Melissa Freitag, and Emaline Freitag. Along with a host of friends and family.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil J. Baxley and Frances G. Baxley.
A memorial gathering will be held on December 13, 2024, at Gasch's Funeral Home P.A., located at 4739 Baltimore Ave in Hyattsville, MD. Family and friends are invited to honor Jane’s remarkable life from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, celebrating the loving legacy she leaves behind.
As we remember Jane, let us carry forward her spirit of love, compassion, and unwavering support, keeping her memory alive in our hearts and actions. She will be deeply missed but warmly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
