Jason Philpott

July 26, 1982 — March 7, 2009

Jason was a Firefighter for the Prince George's County Fire Department. Firefighting was his passion. When work related injuries forced him to take leave for disability he was heartbroken. At the age of 16, he joined the Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department, Company 9. He became the youngest at Station 9 to ever receive the coveted title of Firefighter/EMT. He transferred his membership from Bladensburg, Company 9 to Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Company 29 where he continues to be a member. He attended and graduated from St. Bernard's Catholic School and Parkdale High School. He married Megan E. Philpott and they have a darling son, Matthew Tyler Philpott. Jason was raised in New Carrollton, Maryland by his devoted parents, Gwen and the late William Philpott, Sr. He is the brother of Billy (he called him Brother Bill) and Jessica (he called her Sis) Philpott and the grandson of his belvoved Doris "Ma" Lehman. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Jason's Life Celebration on Friday, March 13, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at GASCH'S FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD, where a Fire Department Memorial Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, March 14 2009, at 10:00 a.m., his funeral services will be held at New Carrollton Bible Church, 7600 Good Luck Road, New Carrollton, MD. Interment will follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to New Carrollton Bible Church. Immediately following the graveside committal service, a reception will be held at the West Lanham Hills Volunteer Fire Department, Company 48.
