Jean Pucher, 87 of Washington, DC passed away January 24, 2023.
Jean was born in Carnegie (Collier Township) PA, the youngest of ten children, to the late Wasyl and Mary Pucher. After earning her medical secretary diploma from a business training college, she worked for a time at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh before deciding to relocate to Washington DC to join two of her sisters who had already moved to the area. She worked at Joseph E. Jones Agency (Mutual of Omaha) as an auditor for 29 years. She then worked at DC Courts until her retirement in 2018.
Jean enjoyed travelling and was a member of the Shillelaghs Travel Club. She was a longtime member of Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington DC, serving on the usher team. Jean was active for many years in the National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs (NFBPWC) DC Chapter, holding various officer positions over the years including treasurer.
She is survived by her brother Joseph Pucher (Burgunde), and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will take place on March 26, 2023 at 1:00 at Foundry UMC, 1500 16th St NW, Washington DC, with interment in the church Columbarium immediately following the service. Parking will be available at Colonial Parking Garage, 1616 P St NW.
