Jerry Beauchamp, an artist and musician who lived in Fort Washington, Maryland, passed away on July 6, 2010. Jerry was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, and attended Oklahoma State University. He worked for several years in the field of child welfare as a social worker before moving to San Francisco to teach guitar. Also a self-taught artist and photographer, he moved into the field of graphic design and worked as a creative director in advertising and then as a freelance artist for the rest of his career, in Chicago, Winston-Salem, NC, and Fort Washington. He was a beloved father to his daughters, Sarah Beauchamp and Eliza Beauchamp, and his stepson Michael Akey. Jerry had close friends all over the country who cherished him for his sense of humor, his wisdom, his outspoken opinions and many entertaining stories. He will be sorely missed by his friends and his children. We take comfort in the fact that his passing was peaceful and that he knew how much he was loved.
