Joan Catherine Balducci

Joan C. Balducci, 88, of Hyattsville, passed away December 20th at Malta House Assisted Living Home.

Joan grew up in Washington, DC in an Italian Catholic community. Joan enjoyed many close relations with family and friends. She organized reunions with her Notre Dame Academy high school class, lunched with friends, and hosted many family holiday gatherings. Joan was godmother to ten and she often wore one of her “Crazy Aunt” shirts when visiting with her great niece and nephews.

Joan worked for the federal government, including many years at the Civil Aeronautics Board. She is predeceased by her parents, Leo Sr. and Alva, and her siblings, Leo Jr. and Nina. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor, her little notes, her many phone calls, her collections of everything, and her enjoyment of beloved friends and family.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, December 27th from 2-5pm at Gasch’s Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, 5205 43rd Avenue in Hyattsville, on Thursday, December 28th at 10am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
