John Owen Jr.

On Saturday July 14, 2018, of Mt. Rainier MD, formerly of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Maria T. Owen. Caring father of Megan M. and Michael K. Owen and cherished grandfather of Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Eleanor Owen, Sr. John’s passion in life was helping others which was always on display in his chosen profession as a social worker and evident in his faithful devotion to St. James Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and greatly adored his grandson, Nicholas, and the time they spent together.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James Catholic Church, 3628 Rhode Island Ave., Mt Rainier, MD on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 10 AM. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1300 Bladensburg Rd. NE, Washington, D.C.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St James Catholic Church at the above stated address.
