On June 15, 2020, John aka “Papa John” entered into eternal life. Pre-deceased by his wife, Jean of 50 years, his parents Thomas and Jessie Vendemia, his daughter, Sharon Costello, his sister, Ida Tyler and his brother, Frank Vendemia. He survives his daughters, Judy Rae Holwegner (Kenny), Nancy Gruitt (Bob), and Suzanne Barb (Kenneth). He leaves behind a host of other family and friends.
We are all better for having shared life’s greatest moments with such a pillar of his community. John served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a career Ironworker with Local #5 Washington, DC. There’s not a federal building that didn’t bear his craftsmanship!
