Joseph Daniel Knight

Joseph Daniel Knight, age 61, passed away on March 1, 2025. He was an amazing father, son, and brother. He cared deeply for animals and cherished his pets. He loved to tell stories and jokes to everyone around him and he had a talent for making people smile and laugh.

Joe was born on January 18, 1964 to his dear mother, Frances Acosta Knight, and his late father, Heyward Daniel Knight. Joe grew up in Rhode Island where he loved to explore haunted places and scare his friends. He joined the Army and travelled to many places around this time. He eventually settled in the DC area where he helped raise his daughter, Misty Knight. He was the most amazing, kind, and loving father. He spent nearly 30 years at a job he loved, the Homewood Suites, and his daughter cherishes the happy times spent visiting him at work. He did many amazing things throughout his life and spread so much joy, it is impossible to fit it all here. His kindness, lively spirit, and overall happiness will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Misty Knight, mother, Frances Acosta Knight, sister, Sandy Rosner, and brother, Tony Knight.

His service will be held on Friday, March 14th at 1pm at Gaschs Funeral Home. There is no dress code or requirements of anyone. All are welcome to come celebrate Joe's life and what an amazing person he was.
