Joseph Simmons

The family patriarch, Joseph Leonard (Lenny) Simmons, peacefully passed during the early morning hours of August 28, 2022.  Joseph worked tirelessly his entire life beginning at an early age after the loss of his father. He raised a young family while pursuing his Master Plumber & Gas Fitter licensure and eventually opened his own business, Simmons Plumbing & Construction, Inc.

He was a man of no excuses that faced life's obstacles with tenacity and determination while focused on being a provider his family could rely on. Joseph fought hard for survival during the last few months and didn't give up until his body failed him. He was not one to mince words but his spoken word was direct, meaningful, and powerful. Despite being a quiet man, he was easily liked by all especially when he displayed his quick wit and humor.

Joseph is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Simmons, and survived by his children, Linda, Joseph, and Michael Simmons. He also leaves behind four adored grandchildren Dawn Baxter, Sean, Michael, and Ethan Simmons. Also close to his heart were great-grandchildren, Haley Campbell (Pudge) and Ryan Younger.
