Joseph "Joe" Maitland

On Friday, March 29, 2019, of Lanham, MD, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL. Loving partner and soulmate of 25 years of Janet Mason (Heart of Honey). Father of Nicole L. Baker, Casey J. Maitland and his bonus children, Eric L. (Imelda B.) Mason and Sean C. (Sylvia E.) Mason. Devoted brother-in-law of James E. Hauser and Robin E. Hauser. He also leaves to cherish in his memory six grandchildren, Ethan, Dominic, Joshua, Olivia, Isabella, and Sophia. Joe also leaves behind a host of caring neighbors and friends locally as well as through the O/boards and Facebook. Joe proudly served his nation in The U.S. Marine Corp. Crabbing and fishing were hobbies that brought him joy. Joe loved to do the two step dance with his Heart of Honey (Jan). Together, they enjoyed all genres of music. The family wishes to extend a warm thank you to Capital Caring Hospice for their dedication to both Joe and Jan. Friends may call for a memorial gathering at Gasch’s Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Saturday April 6 from 12 p.m. until memorial service time at 2 pm.
