On Saturday, March 22, 2008, Larry L. Goldberg passed away at the age of 88. A longtime resident of Greenbelt, Maryland, Mr. Goldberg was born in New York City and graduated from the City College of New York. He moved to the Washington area in 1943 and worked as a Naval Architect for the Department of Defense until his retirement in 1976. Larry taught for ten years after his retirement at the University of Maryland, where he and his wife, Lillie, enjoyed taking classes. An avid handball and racquetball player, Larry served his community tutoring Greenbelt students and assisting with American Red Cross blood drives. He is survived by his children, Alice and Ed Snyder, Harold and Wendy Goldberg, and Janet Goldberg; his grandchildren, Brian Goldberg and Joanna Bonventre, and Michael Goldberg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie, and his granddaughter, Lynn.
