Mahlon Mueller

February 22, 1933 — July 29, 2011

On July 29, 2011, passed away at Laurel Regional Hospital at the age of 78. Loving husband of, Joy; beloved father of Cheri Parsons of Ocean City, MD and Connie Horil of Fairfax, VA. Also survived by brothers, Rodger (Carol), Vincent (Marguerite), and CJ (Kathy); sister, Dorallen; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Dallas, OR and raised in CA where he received a Bachelor's Degree in journalism from San Jose State and served two years in the Army. He most recently worked as a substitute teacher in Prince George's County, MD. He previously worked in automotive sales, managed the Blue Knob Ski Area in PA, and started the first Hecht Company ski shop in Washington, DC. He was most famous for founding the Fagowee Ski Club of Washington, DC. Dutch had a profound impact on everyone he met and was dedicated to helping others enjoy life to the fullest. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Friday, August 12 from 1 to 5 pm at the American Legion Post #136, 6900 Greenbelt Rd., Greenbelt, MD 20770. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Legion Post 136.
