Margaret "Granny"

March 22, 1923 — September 20, 2008

On Saturday, September 20, 2008, MARGARET ANDERS, 85, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away at the Van Dyke Hospice Center. She was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, residing in Hyattsville, Maryland for 50 years, moving to New Jersey in 2002. Margaret will be remembered by her family and friends as an independent and personable woman who was proud of her Southern heritage and her family. She was an avid duckpin bowler for many years, was involved in various community and church activities, enjoyed traveling, Atlantic City, and discussing politics. Margaret was a member of the East Dover Baptist Church in Toms River, and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Hyattsville. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Robert Anders, in 2001, and her son, Ronald Anders, in 2002. She is survived by her children, Louise Akramoff (George), Olympia, Washington, Judy Heale (Christopher), Toms River, New Jersey, Donald Anders (Linda), Olympia, Washington; daughter-in-law, Janet Anders, Tacoma, Washington; and brothers, James H. Radcliff, Daytona Beach, Florida and Hall Radcliff (Jeanette), Asheville, North Carolina. She leaves 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, September 28, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD. Service will be celebrated on Monday, September 29 at 10:00 am. Interment will be held on Tuesday, September 30 at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite charity in Margaret's memory.
