Margaret Mary “Peggy” Last Swartz of College Park, Maryland (Age 87)

Peggy was born on January 16, 1937 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was the fourth of Henry and Elizabeth Last’s five children. After graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School, she married Eugene Swartz, also of Kenosha. They moved to Virginia with their five boys. Gene and Brock started the company that would become Swartz and Sons Distributors, where Peggy worked for more than forty years. When they weren’t working, Peggy and Gene loved spending time at their cabin on the Shenandoah River in Front Royal, VA.

Peggy was preceded in death by Gene (2011) and her second son, Brent (2024). She is survived by her sons Brock, Benjamin, Brenan, and Bart, her five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 13 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hyattsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mark’s food pantry.
