Muriel C. Harrison, 86 a retired adventurer and entertainer of dreams, died on April 18th, 2016 peacefully at her home in Maryland with her family at her side.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Canton South Dakota and grew up in Sioux Falls S.D. As a young adult Mrs. Harrison left Sioux Falls with a girlfriend and headed off to Washington D.C. to answer the military's call for help in a new Head Quarters building they recently opened called the Pentagon. Mrs. Harrison met her husband, Raymond Harrison at a dance in Washington D.C. They married on September 21st 1951, and as newlyweds shared adventures living in New York City, Sioux Falls S.D., Cedar Rapids Iowa, eventually moving to and settling in Washington D.C. Relocating to suburban Washington, Mrs. Harrison worked at raising their three children, Bud, Barb, and Bonnie.
Her beloved husband, Raymond Harrison died in 1984 and proudly served with the United States Army in the Korean War. With her Norwegian practicality, she never said no to his dream. They enjoyed adventures together, sometimes ending up on roads seldom traveled.
Mrs. Harrison was a resident of Riverdale, Maryland for over 50 years. Mrs. Harrison is survived by her Son Bud, two daughters Barb and Bonnie, and grandchildren Kristen, Lauren, Jamie, Reed and Erin.
Funeral services will be at St. John's Lutheran Church at 11am on Wednesday April 27th. Mr. Harrison will be buried next to her husband at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Bladensburg Maryland.
