Nancy D. Ksanznak, of University Park, MD, passed away on May 7th, at age 90. She was born Nancy
Eleanor Dean in Indiana on September 17th, 1930. She was the oldest of six children born to Sheldon and
Freda Dean. After graduating from high school, she worked for the Department of the Army at the Pentagon in
Arlington, VA. She married Alex J. Ksanznak in 1950 and became a devoted wife, loving mother, beloved
grandmother and cherished great grandmother. Nancy was an accomplished seamstress and an avid
reader. She loved the beach which is where she spent time with her family and had her fondest of memories during that time.
Listening to music was an essential part of her life. Her father was a musician, and she treasured her
time listening to her two sons performing together. She is survived by her siblings, Cynthia Julian,
Barbara Browne, and Douglas Dean. She leaves three children, Alex Ksanznak, Michael Ksanznak, Karin
Ksanznak Feild. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Caleb Quaid Jessie Ksanznak and Adam
Ksanznak as well as two great grandchildren, Kobe and Atlas Quaid.
There will be a viewing at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Friday, May 21st, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. with the service beginning at 7 p.m.
Burial will be at Transfiguration Church Cemetery, 47 Susquehanna Boulevard and Route 93, West Hazleton, PA 18202 , on Saturday, May 29th, 2021 at 11:30 a.m.
