Neil C. Carmichael Sr., of Woodlawn, MD, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home with family present on the morning of August 30, 2013. He was born in Cambridge, MA, on December 21, 1937. He is survived by Sylvia Jane, his wife of 53 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Robin (and Joe) Murphy and his son, Neil Carmichael Jr. (and Birgit), as well as his seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Sarah, Joey, Colleen, Erin, Elise and Amelie. Neil was an avid history buff who for many years was an active Civil War reenactor with the 8th VA Vol. and 15th Mass. He and his wife enjoyed traveling together with their children and grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his strong work ethic, his generous and caring spirit, his eclectic taste in music, and his love of animals. Visitation with the family will be held from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Grace Bible Church, 9920 Lanham Severn Road, Seabrook, MD. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Grace, followed by a reception meal in the Fellowship Hall.
