Norene Micallef

Norene Micallef, 92, loving and devoted mother and retired MD social services employee died April 3 at Washington Hospital Center of complications due to congestive heart failure.  Mrs. Micallef was born Renata Kosikowska in Lackawanna, NY, and settled in the Washington area, marrying USN Band member Raymond Micallef.  After her husband perished in the 1960 USN band crash, Mrs. Micallef dedicated her life to raising their 3 children, Cynthia Marcum, Karen O’Sullivan, and Raymond C. Micallef.  She is survived not only by her children, but by two sisters, Teri Canestrari and Marianne Consigli of Buffalo, NY, seven loving grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
