Olive Jane Williams, 88, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
great-great-grandmother, Christian believer and prayer warrior, went home
to be with the Lord on February 2nd at Washington Hospital Center of lung
failure.
Mrs. Williams dedicated her life to her family, home, and church. Mrs.
Williams received an Associate in Arts degree, May 28, 1988, at the age 67.
She taught piano and was the organist at Kettering Baptist Church Largo,
Maryland until she was forced to retire due to macular degeneration. Mrs.
Williams, our grandmother was a true Christian who was dedicated to
spreading God's message of salvation to anyone and everyone who crossed her
path. This was best seen in her dedication to her 4th grade girls Sunday
school class where she picked up those who needed a ride and made home
visits to encourage each child.
Preceding her in death, her husband of 70 years, Donald Koogle Williams,
died in 2005.
Survivors include daughters, Donna Lyn Phillips of Lakeland, Florida and
Lois Ann Williams of Largo, Maryland; granddaughters, Olive Sharon Berg of
Bowie, Maryland and Deborah Lyn Fabrizio of Bryans Road, Maryland; great
grandchildren, Lindsay Christine Phillips, Zachary Thomas Berg, Anthony
Jared Toppi and Stephanie Nicole Berg; and great, great, grandchildren,
Olivia Faith and Matthew Thomas. A private family funeral will be held in
Petersville, Maryland by Gashes funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to Belair Baptist Church, Bowie, Maryland.
