Paul Beavers

August 2, 1975 — February 4, 2024

Greenbelt

Paul Ashton Beavers passed away at home on February 4th, 2024. Paul was born to Paula Windsor and Gilbert Beavers. They moved to Greenbelt when he was a child and he has resided here ever since. Paul is survived by his two children, Amanda Beavers and Alexis Beavers, and the family dog, Junior.

Paul spent most of his life as a painter and loved the physical labor of a construction career. He stayed in this career until he was unfortunately diagnosed with an incredibly rare disease that named him the 40th person to ever be diagnosed. After that, he changed his primary focus to fighting this disease. Paul had an incredibly strong will and fought hard until the end. The doctor told us 3 years ago he only had weeks to live but yet survived for much longer. They told us he most likely wouldn’t walk again and yet he was walking himself up the steps in the weeks leading to his passing. Paul never gave up and gave himself a few more precious years to spend with his family. Paul enjoyed watching football (go Giants!), spending time at the American Legion Post 136 and being with his friends and family.

There will be a small intimate ceremony for close friends and family at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 9am on February 16th. Following, there will be a celebration of life open to all that knew Paul at the Greenbelt American Legion, 6900 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD, starting at 6pm.
