Richard A. Keller (age 91), former resident of the College Park area, passed away suddenly and peacefully on September 16, with his family by his side.
Richard overcame many obstacles in his life. After recovering from a life threatening accident while serving in the Army, he went on to help his family start Keller’s Garden Mart. He successfully ran R.A. Keller Backhoe and Grading Business for many years before retiring. Richard had a passion for gardening, crabbing, and fishing. He spent many a weekend at Solomon’s Island Navy Recreation Center camping and boating with friends and family. He was a former faithful parishioner at Holy Redeemer Church and a 50-year member of College Park American Legion. Predeceased by his brothers John R. Keller (Jack) and Robert J. Keller (Jerry), and wife Mary B. Keller. He is survived by nieces, many great and great-great nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, a charity for disabled veteran, or Holy Redeemer Church in College Park.
Due to COVID delays in scheduling, a private internment will be scheduled for immediate family at a later date.
