Robert "Bob" Edward Stefl, 75 of Ocean View, Delaware, passed away, Monday November 17, 2014 at his home.
Friends may call at 10:30 am Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 4101 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD, where a celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland. Memorials may be made in his name to the Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad, 31738 Indian Mission Road, Millsboro, DE 19966.
Robert was born August 28, 1939 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Rose Stefl. He was a graduate of Uniontown High School and he attended Penn State University. On September 21, 1963 he married the former Barbara Ann Salonick. He enlisted and served 5 years in the United States Air Force, in 1963 he was appointed to the DC Fire Department and assigned to Truck 6, he worked and retired 25 years later as a Captain at Truck 3. He loved the Redskins was an avid golfer and loved to travel and see new courses. He spent most of his free time in retirement enjoying the beach, golf and time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Stefl of Ocean View, Delaware, his two sons, Patrick Robert Stefl and his wife Heather of Stafford County, Virginia, and Marc Edward Stefl of Jessup, Maryland, two grandchildren, Dylan and Jack Stefl, Raymond and Judy Alexander of Tallahassee, Florida and a niece Michelle, and nephews Keith and Brian. He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Rose and his daughter Lisa Ann Stefl in 1978.
