On June 23, 2023, Rose Marie Cicala (88), passed away peacefully with her only daughter, Christina
Cicala Boblits, by her side. Rose was born on November 23, 1934, in Washington DC. Rose is survived by
her daughter, Christina Cicala Boblits, and Son-in-Law, Robert Boblits, Grandsons Anthony Garrett Cable
and Evan Bryce Boblits, her two sisters, Mary DeRight and Juanita Wilson and the growing Italian family
Rose married John Cicala on September 14, 1958, and had their only daughter Christina in 1964. Rose
was a career woman, when women in the workforce was not common. She worked at the US Treasury
Department as Secretary to the Secretary of the Treasury for 25 years, and then as Director of
Correspondence for the Treasury Department until her retirement. She moved to Ocean City, Maryland,
after her husband John passed away in 1998. She loved the beach, her friends and singing in a chorus
that gave performances all over Ocean City, and lived there until 2017, when she left and went to live
with Christina and her family. She loved her time with her Grandchildren, Anthony and Evan, and took
pleasure in the day-to-day activities of the busy boys. She was a very proud Grandparent. She was
selfless to all, her family and friends, and was a Mother who was always there, always supportive, and
always putting her family first. She was an avid reader of all authors, but loved Danielle Steele, and was
an excellent crossword puzzler. Recently her Grandsons, Anthony, who is a US Navy pilot and stationed
in Jacksonville, (but leaving to be stationed in Spain this past April), and Evan, spent hours in the kitchen
with Rose making homemade chicken cacciatore, homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs and
listening to her favorite Frank Sinatra music. This was the kind of day that made her happiest. Family
